Information for Majors
The Environmental Sciences curriculum has been revised in the spring of 2003. Beginning Fall term 2003, any students who are currently in the program can choose to stay with the old curriculum or switch to the new curriculum. All students who are entering the program from Fall term 2003 onward will automatically use the revised curriculum checklist.
The main difference between the old curriculum and the revision is that there is more room for electives under the revised curriculum. Several requirements have been dropped, including ECON 202, PHL 205, the History of Science category, and PH 203 (although we strongly recommend that students planning to attend graduate school in any of the sciences take a full year of physics, and students pursuing science options that require advanced physics take the 211 – 213 sequence.) In addition to these changes, the courses in the “Humans and the Environment” section have been reorganized into slightly different categories.
