Alternatively, you can search the Environmental Sciences Graduate Program faculty list.

After Applying for Graduate Study

Have I been accepted for Graduate Study?

Please be patient! We will inform you of our decision regarding your application as soon as possible. You may contact us to make sure we have received all of your application materials if you would like. Email: esgp@oregonstate.edu

Will I receive financial aid for my graduate study?

If you have been selected to receive financial aid from ESGP in the form of a graduate teaching assistantship (GTA), you will be informed of this as soon as it is available. We understand that the receipt of financial aid often determines where you attend graduate school; if we are able to offer you a GTA, we will contact you promptly with our offer. Please realize that a limited number of GTAs are available. Financial aid is also available in the form of a graduate research assistantship, GRA. GRA selection is made by an individual faculty member who will usually serve as your major advisor and will supervise your research. Your thesis research will involve a topic for which your major advisor has secured funding. For GRA consideration, you should directly contact individual faculty members in your area of specialization.

Please note that most faculty members will ignore 'blanket' e-mail requests from students whose research interests differ from theirs. Thus, it is most effective to only solicit GRA support from faculty members whose research interests are well-matched with yours. Please consult the web pages of the faculty members to learn about their research interests, projects, availability of funding, and qualifications for participating in their research.

If I begin my graduate study at Oregon State without financial aid, is it likely that I will receive financial aid after I begin my study?

We can't guarantee that you will receive funding. Once you arrive at Oregon State and demonstrate that you have the attributes we value (academic excellence, strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate orally and in written English), you will be considered for GTA or GRA support. If you are admitted, but not awarded an assistantship, you should be prepared to be a self-supporting student.
